Summer Camp at Chagrin Valley Farms was another banner year. We experienced
record high attendance as word spread about how much fun we were having.
Many of our new campers returned for additional weeks. The highlight of
each week was the Friday horse show where campers demonstrated their newly
acquired skills for family & friends. Each camper left the ring proudly
displaying their ribbons and awards. We continued the tradition of honoring
a camp assistant each week for their hard work and dedication, and they were
again rewarded with a gift certificate to Dairy Island. Most of our
assistants also qualified for the end-of-summer camp out. Even the rainy
night didn't dampen the fun. Other camper highlights included riding (of
course!), grooming & bathing horses, games "on the hill", and even finger
painting "Handsome Boy Freddie", Legend, and Topcat. Other favorite camp
horses were Buck, Calypso, Capstone, Chance, Chester, "Daisy Dukes", Honey,
"Jivin Ivan", Jay, Kerry, Lana, "Lucky Lover Lips", and Star. Look for 2007
camp registration forms after the first of the year, and register early.
Our 2006 camp filled very quickly and we hate to turn people away! Students
interested in pursuing the camp assistant program should apply in the
spring. Have a great winter and we'll see you next summer!
