MEET THE PROFESSIONALS

                                                                                    Meet Liz Scoville

Elizabeth Scoville, of Burton, began teaching riding lessons in North  Carolina as a teen at a local stable. She graduated from Yale University with a Degree in English. After pursuing her love of horses working on the racetrack in Maryland, she took a position on Capitol Hill working for a legislator, and continued to ride at Meadow Brook Farm in Maryland. Her passion beat out her profession and she eventually moved into riding and teaching full-time, later relocating to Ohio.

Liz first came to Chagrin Valley Farms in 1990 to work for Lenehan, Inc.  She started her own training and showing business in 1991, ESF, Inc. She trains horses and riders for hunters, jumpers and equitation competition. To contact ESF, Inc  directly, phone 440-759-0963.

She has been teaching hunters in this area since 1986, is married with 5 children.  Her 3 daughters ride and show in national competitions.  Rande loves working with all ages from pony kids to adult hunters.  Fox Den Farm is located at Chagrin Valley Farms 440-773-8824 (cell) 440-247-3418 (home).

Meet Cari Gleeson

Cari Gleeson still finds herself with the same love of horses she had when she was five.  As a child she showed ponies in New England. Her small stature kept her in the pony ring until she was eighteen.  Earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, she taught elementary school for ten years while pursuing a career on the A circuit as an Amateur. When her first daughter was born in 1994 she left the public school system, but continued to show and bring along green horses.

Her daughters, both quite accomplished now, began riding in 2002. It was a natural progression for her to teach them.  She took a training position at Maypine Farm; her passion for horses and teaching united.

Stepping Stone Farm, the name of her business, was called such because ponies act as stepping stones for the kids on their journey to success and learning. Located at Chagrin Valley Farms 216-390-2952, you can easily find them, just look for the small children and ponies!
